Attack of the Clones: 97% Jar Jar Free

I didn't have a big problem with Jar Jar in The Phantom Menace. I just thought there could've been less of him. "Too many notes," to channel Emperor Josef in Amadeus. I imagine "Wolfie" Lucas would argue with me. But, Jar Jar Bashers rejoice! He hardly appears in Attack of the Clones.

I haven't quite decided if it's quite as good as the offerings of the Original Trilogy, but I did enjoy it more than The Phantom Menace. And I did get to see something I've been wanting to see for 22 years: Yoda kicking ass. Don't fuck with the Jedi master.

It did get me thinking about the Original Trilogy and how the new movies are changing my interpretations of them. We all know that Anakin is going to father Luke and Leia and turn to the dark side. Knowing this, the dramatic "Luke, I am your father" scene in The Empire Strikes Back isn't going to be quite as dramatic. Unless, of course, they do something in Episode 3 that doesn't make it blatantly obvious that Anakin becomes Vader. We'll find out in three years.

Three years. Dammit, I'm just as impatient now as I was at age twelve.
